
floated down upon me, as I curled up in senior sleep
where antiseptic odors no longer made me wince, and strangers and family
stared down at me, touched a cool arm or wiggled one of my toes - And I know
they are there but they think I have already escaped the room.
That is one day to come, and it is okay.
Today, I am in my home, flapping and spreading out my white sheets
upon my bed where three cats jump up to help me
attack wrinkles in the folds of fresh linens
that curl around me like a lover once did nightly.
Those were days that came and went, and it is okay.
