Visits are like pats on the back to us who work alone on our projects. Since numerous visitors do not hit the 'Like' icon of the Facebook or Tweet after they view a page, stats will let us know someone is actually out there reading. Many of us offer our work freely to the public. That is what I do. I also offer a Guest Page to anyone who has something worthwhile to offer the general public on nearly any topic.
I have read this issue of counter discrepancy online without a true, clear reason as to why it exists. I do like WEEBLY's numbers much more but are they accurate? Or do they pump up the numbers so owners keep paying them to support the website? I don't know. It is worse than trying to figure out politicians. As a writer, I do not want to be bothered at all with this, but it draws my attention and sucks the time away from what I want to share and do... writings.
WEEBLY STATS this week: 1,402 Pages Viewed This Week
353 Unique Visitors This Week
STAT-COUNTER this week: 129 Pages Viewed This Week
74 Unique Visitors This Week
A feature that I like with Weebly is the breaking down of each story that was read. For instance, since I put up Prescription for the Gray Princess, it has received 96 views in the 9 days it has been posted. Different Call to Arms:Domestic Violence had 53 views in the five days it has been up. My older post of Grace Line Ships has had 55. If I total that up just for this week, these three offerings have a total of 204 views. Compared to the stat-counter, I am not doing the numbers if they have me at only 129 total views for this week alone. I am leaning moreso to the Weebly stats.
As of this morning 9 AM: Weebly stats has my pages viewed as 29, but the stats counter has just ONE! Hmm...
These specific numbers make me doubt my new stat-counter on my lower left of page. Or do they? Hell, I don't know.
What's a writer to do but write about it, right?
Thanks for stopping in!
